Joseph would actually be better off if Zac died. Their relationship is suffocating both of them.
I can't believe it took me six months to figure that out.
Now I feel accomplished.
However, I was under the impression that rewriting is supposed to make the story tighter, make it flow better, make it shorter. How, then, am I writing chapter five of the second draft using situations from chapter two of the first draft? Not good. Not good at all.
Okayokay, here's the thing. I need something new to work on, because otherwise rewriting is going to drive me completely mad. So, opinions. Which of these sounds most interesting? (And, Pyrae, don't think you can get out of this with an it's-your-story-and-thus-your-choice lecture.)
+ The Speed of Dark - Contemporary Fantasy/Humor - Incompetent angel is sent to Earth to prevent Apocalypse
+ Untitled - Dark Contemporary Fantasy/Mystery - Vampire/werewolf duo attempt to solve mystery of who killed the vampire's uncle
+ On the Fence - Mainstream screenplay - Two girls who have lived next door to each other for sixteen years get to know each other and end up strongly affecting each other's lives
+ Shadows and Light - High Fantasy/War Story - Six teenagers in a military academy keeping the lone survivor of an enemy nation hidden from their superiors. And necromancy. Lots and lots of necromancy.
+ Heavenfire - Fantasy/Slash - Pyrian might be a god. Ryuven might be the worst gang member of all time. The world might be in terrible danger. It's up to two incredibly strange heroes to go back in time and fix things - even if it means reliving the worst moments of their lives. Add in carnivorous unicorns, talking flowers, and vampire sheep. Stir well.
I want to elaborate more, but I have no time. I am off to agonize over putting in a zipper in Clothing.
