Okay, so here's what happened.
I did get to go to Chicago yesterday. We visited the Art Institute, which was fun but wore me out, because I can only take so much art at a time, you know?
Then we ate "dinner" at a "mall," but it wasn't actually dinner because the "food court" was mostly closed (at five in the afternoon. Maybe it's a Chicago thing.) and it wasn't actually a mall either. But the elevators were fun. So whatever.
Then we wandered around the city for about forty-five minutes, looking at yet more art, and then we saw Wicked.
Which was everything I hoped it would be and more.
The upshot of all this? I didn't get back until midnight, and even though I usually go to bed at that time, I was so exhausted today that I pretty much slept through APUSH surreptitiously.
But now I'm better! And I had a good long talk with Katie on the ride home, and that was fun.
And I suddenly feel a lot more enthused about school because there are thirty days left. Hurrah! And I think I aced the Econ test that I spent about five minutes studying for. Hurrah!
