I think I know what American Idol could do to fix their voting problems. (Still hella pissed about last night, by the way.)

Take a leaf out of Grease: You're the One That I Want's book. Let the audience vote, pull the bottom two, and let the judges decide which one is worthy of staying. That would work up through Final 6 or so, then it would have to be audience votes alone...but I sure bet it'd be a halfway decent Final 6 in no danger of ending up with Haley or Sanjaya.

Yes, it somewhat minimizes the total impact of America's vote, but we all know about votefortheworst and people who shamelessly fangirl/boy the pretty people without caring if they sing well enough to move on. The judges are at least supposed to know something about this industry, and about what the competition is meant to get out of these people. While I'm sure it wouldn't be foolproof, we'd be fucking well rid of Haley by now. And didn't Sanjaya make bottom two awhile back? And no fucking Scott Savol, which ruined THAT season for me.

Next year, AI. Look into it.
