Stupid stupid *stupid* straight boys.
I don't know why they're doing this.
Because, okay, Elliott is just *awful* and Seth knows it. And Elliott is a memoriamancer, he screws with people's minds, and he's been doing it to half the people in the academy since he arrived, including their other roommate, Nick. It's so screwed up. And Nick's forgotten things about his family, he's forgotten all kinds of things and doesn't know it, and Seth *knows* that Nick doesn't know, but Seth's afraid to tell anyone because Elliott doesn't know that Seth knows, and Seth doesn't want to lose his own memories.
And I don't know why they stay together. I don't know why Seth doesn't try to avoid Elliott a bit more obviously. I don't know why Elliott is so nice to him until Seth gets him expelled. And they *hate* each other more than anything but they don't *do* anything about it. And even after they leave the academy, even when they have no obligation to stick with Marisa, they do. Even when Elliott doesn't *care* about saving the world, even when Seth knows that he could save it much easier on his own (and eventually he does, but so not the point.)
And, and, is this some kind of subliminal love? Why don't they leave? I know they don't. They can't. But why? And it's so very odd. Especially after Elliott's girlfriend dies and Seth can't bring her back. And they have, like, the weirdest relationship ever and I don't understand it. *flails about madly*

Okay, fine, I'll tell you. Everyone dies, the Dead King takes over, and Seth has pretty, pretty eyes.

FINE. I AM VAGUE. I ADMIT IT. WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO EXPLAIN IN GRAPHIC DETAIL EXACTLY HOW EVERYONE DIES?
I haven't forgotten. I figured out how to do apothems yesterday. Now I'm rejoicing in my genius and avoiding finishing the practice final.

and yes i would like to know how everyone dies in precise detail, thank you very much *hmph*, but you probably wont tell me.
So there is no use asking.

One character is shot with a crossbow during a bandit raid.
Another one spends two-thirds of the trilogy slowly fading away into nothing.
Another one just dies. Long story.
The most important one is the necromancer who kills themself to resurrect the only person who can save the world. That one is sad, as it involves much slashing of wrists and choking on blood as they try to explain what's going on.

and if arins is the one your talking about, when does he get married?
Oh, that would be terribly spoilery. Suffice it to say that they don't meet until they're fifteen, and get married somewhat after that.

Alas, I am cursed.
Mi-Sheir is fun. I like her. She's so ordinary.
