Pyrae and I are researching Egypt - her for an original story, me for "Behind the Eyes" - and it's very scary how perfectly the mythology fits with our already established plotlines. I mean, really. I cannot say too much, for I fear spoilers, but...whoa.

The minstrel boy said the war is gone
In the ranks of death you'll find him
His father's sword he has girded on
His wild harp slung behind him
"Land of song!" said the warrior bard
"Though all the world betrays thee,
"One sword at least thy rights shall gaurd.
"One faithfull harp shall praise thee."
The minstrel fell but the foeman's chains
Could not bring his proud soul under
The harp he loved never spoke again
For he tore it's cords asunder
And he said, "No chains shall sully thee,
"Thou soul of love and bravery.
"Thy songs are made for the pure and free
"They shall never sound in slavery!"

*knocks writer over head with club*

Thank you. I didn't write it though. Old Irish song. My grandpa was singing it again. Got stuck in my head.

It sounds familiar. I think I've heard it before. I liked the last four lines.
