Wow.
I started crying when Dobby died, and I don't think I ever really stopped, though it got pronouncedly worse when they got to Hogwarts, and I was actively wiping tears away throughout The Prince's Tale. Oh, Severus.
That book was...so much more than I thought it would be, so much better in every possible way. I'm sure I'll have several objections when I reread it, but at this point, the only thing on my mind is how much JKR's ability to name people has plummeted. Xenophilius? Thicknesse? Kendra? Rowle?! ALBUS SEVERUS?!?!
*deep breath*
But in every other way, it was so - wow. Just - wow. I don't even particularly mind the epilogue, though I'm surprised after all the hints we didn't find out one way or another about Dean/Luna.
And Narcissa. She is everything I always thought she was, flaws and all. There was just enough of all the Malfoys in the book to make me love them even more, without anything to contradict the way I see them, and my interpretation of Narcissa particularly is still intact and even moreso, and I knew, knew she would betray Voldemort in the end for the sake of her son, I knew.
I love Dobby more than I ever thought possible, and Percy and Fred and George and REGULUS and Kreacher and Molly and Luna and NEVILLE OMG NEVILLE. And Zacharias RAN AWAY! I knew he would. And CHO! And oh, oh, oh, EVERYONE. I love EVERYONE.
I think that's all I have to say tonight, really, because I've got to get to the business of reading everyone else's reactions. I'm so much more in love with this book than I ever expected to be, and I think even on rereading it's going to be my favorite.
