Almost forgot to recommend a trilogy I finished yesterday. I am shocked that no one has heard of it. What I speak of is the Abhorsen trilogy, by Garth Nix.

It was marvelous, brilliant in every way. It was better than almost any fantasy series I've ever read. The last chapter made me cry, but the epilogue, in a few short pages, had me laughing with relief and joy. I was up till long past midnight trying to finish the third book.

This begs the question, why has no one heard of it?

Probably because it is housed in the Young Adult section, at least at my library. But seriously, it's great. Go read. Go read and be happy about it, I command thee.

Edited to add: [livejournal.com profile] pyrae kindly pointed out that there is no plot summary here. I say, why bother with plot? Plot is unimportant! It's about necromancy, all right? Necromancy. And the end-of-the-world-as-it-is-known.
