It's early.

Anyway, um, I just wanted to mention that that Wex kid is totally cuter when he's wearing the wraith mask. Which is screwed up in itself.

We went to the funeral and it was like a mass gathering of popular people. Jessica and Natalie were the only ones who even acknowledged my presence - Natalie because she had to, Jessica because she's the kind of person who notices people.

Mari and Katri were there so afterwards we all went to Culver's for dinner and started talking and laughing. It was fun.

The weird thing is that as we left we saw Hannah, Heather, Beth, and Kim going in. This is weird because of several things.

1. None of them go to our church.
2. None of them went to our grade school.
3. We don't run in that social circle.

I imagine they could have read the notice in the paper, but honestly, who really reads the obituaries? That's morbid. I'm speaking as a morbid person here.

So I don't know why they were there, but it's nice that they went, anyway.

I don't think you understand how completely forgettable Icon was, and it was about Daniel! And he got shot in the third episode and I can't remember what it was called! And I've only brought myself to watch Serpent's Lair twice, and once I only watched the slashy bit, and I've watched Hide and Seek every day!

You clearly do not feel the lure of At-slash-tis and Major Shepwhore.

From the threads I've been reading, Icon was an excellent ep filled with the stuff from the old seasons, and Atlantis is ripping off anything and everything. Of course, I can't judge myself until I've seen the eps, but I'm not prepared to jump ship just yet, especially when I know some of the showrunners want all the SG-1 fans to jump to Atlantis so they can have their shiny explosions without the hassles of difficult actors who actually insist on, say, consistent characterization. I'm sticking this out. Positive sides. I watch Atlantis because it comes on after SG-1 and I'm too lazy to turn off the TV. I think McKay and Beckett are the only interesting characters, and McKay's not going to be able to keep it up if no one else can match him.

Icon was...ugh. No spoilers, promise. It started off really, really nicely, and I was laughing and happy and joy. But they decided to have some fun with chronology, and it was predictable, and I just didn't care about what happened to the aliens, and there was some inappropriate romance, and Daniel didn't really get all that many fun lines, and I can't understand why Jack is still in charge when it's so obvious that he's not right for the position. Sam and Teal'c were hardly there at all.

Whereas, with Suspicion, even though there was too much of the Athosians, for the first time I was interested in what Teyla was doing. And McKay had some good moments, and so did Sheppard, and so did pretty much everyone else. Atlantis, for the moment, is really an ensemble cast, and I like that. And, yeah, some of it is stupid, but it has continuity. Squee.

Yeah, actually, she did. Apparently the fiancee was on the phone with him when he had the heart attack, and he wasn't responding so she called Natalie's personal line and told her to find him, and by the time she got there he was already dead.

It's just so creepy. *shudder* Poor Nat.
