Okay, I'm pissed off.

I didn't get a part in the play. I didn't expect to get a part. I've got no delusions; I know I'm not a great actress. In fact, I'm just barely a good actress.

But two girls got parts who are definitely not good enough for them. I've seen them both act, and they're awful. It's some kind of favoritism, and it isn't fair. Also, another girl got the part I sort of wanted, and she's a good actress and I like her, but I really do think I could have played the part better than she could have.

Also there is a boy in the cast who is really, really bad. I mean really. I had an audition with him. He's horrible. Probably there weren't enough male auditions, but still. It upsets me.

I didn't even get to be on the stage crew, which is stupid because a lot of freshmen are on it who have no experience.

On the positive side, I played catch-up with TSPB, which I had no time to edit last night because of stupid World Lit. So it's good now.

On the other hand, I did very badly on my Spanish test, and I've always been so good at Spanish.

All in all, not a good day school-wise. Thank God it's Friday.

Merrivere, I might not be able to come to your party. Mom's being a bitch, as usual. Call me tomorrow, okay? Or I'll call you.

:( You can't come at all

Wibble. I'm sad now.

And maybe they got the part because they looked it or something. For example, if the husband is a brunette and rather short, the child is a skinny short brunette, and a tall chunky blonde tries out for the part of the wife...she may not get cast.

That's true, but with two of the parts it's more attitude than looks, and with the third it's such a small part that looks really don't matter.

Go figure. But then again, you did have a bit of trouble opening up and being sexy for me last Saturday. Slashers, do with this statement what you will.

Heh. That's true. I just wish the auditions were better. Basically, all they can tell from the kind we do is if you have voice projection and if you know which words to emphasise. It's not really acting

Look at it this way.

You are now no longer associated with a play full of horrible actors who are probably going to muck it all up anyway. You've dodged a stain on your resume. Better stuff will come along.

Heh. Thank you. You make it all seem so much brighter. Love you, darling.

By the way, I won't be able to post chapter one tonight, although I intend to finish typing it up. Please don't hit me with a fish. ;)

I want to see it too! :nods: And yeah, high-school drama teachers tend to increase drama in their surroundings by existing. I know that you would have done wonderfully. You might try community theatre if you have any.

Our community theatres don't have many parts for teenagers who can't sing. All the audition information in the paper is for "eighteen or older" or for little kids. It's very annoying.
