Have twenty-five dollars and don't know what to spend it on. HELP.

1. Get those three Discworld books I don't have yet: Moving Pictures, The Last Continent, and Witches Abroad. Probably best value, but I'm not wild about the witches sans Agnes and I've heard TLC is mainly a gag book and I don't know many jokes about Australia.

2. Going Postal. Would be majorly insane, as I almost never buy hardcover books if I can help it, but ANKH-MORPORK SQUEENESS.

3. Save for Hallowe'en costume. Is important, as even capes cost a ridiculous amount of money. (Sixty bucks for a leather cape? WTF? Never knew it was so expensive to be Dracula!)

4. Buy the new Lemony Snicket book. <3 these books, and always buy them ASAP; however, would need to reread entire series first, so probably not.

5. Buy The Day After Tomorrow. Would be MAJORLY stupid because I didn't see it in theatres and don't know if I will like it, but...Jake Gylenhaal...pretty snow...overcome with lust...

SOB.

Oh, and that college major thing that I thought I had straightened out? I totally don't. WAIL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT. I definitely DON'T want a Creative Writing major, because they'll make me do short stories and poetry and I don't wanna, but Drama/Theatre has a definite element of ACTING in, and just regular English would be dreadfully boring after awhile. I shall probably go with Drama, and a minor in English, but still. And I know I don't need to decide right now, I've got ages left and you don't have to declare a major straightaway, but I like to know where I'm going and I don't.

TOTALLY LEMONY SNICKET. The new book is really excellent, much better than The Slippery Slope!

Wait on Day After Tomorrow. We just bought it yesterday and will probably watch as a family soon, so I can let you know how it is.

My advice:

1) Get Witches Abroad, Moving Pictures + The Last Continent from a second-hand shop for 50 cents each.

2) Buy Going Postal from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0060013133/qid=1098305766/sr=2-1/ref=pd_ka_b_2_1/002-6953682-5206456) for $16.97

3) Make a Halloween costume - ask around for fabrics, etc. $0

4) Reread entire Lemony Snicket series and then buy the new one.

5) Don't do this one.

Total cost: $18.47

Have now watched Day After Tomorrow.

Fwooooooooosh!

Right, er, anyway, the effects and the Gylenhaal will probably make you happy, but it doesn't have all that much rewatchability, so stick with a book for now and possibly I can lend you the movie or you can come over and watch it.

Did someone actually tell you there was something other than noveling?
