I am officially a reader in the Stargate fandom. Once I have watched the entire series, I shall probably become a writer. Fear me.

There seems to be a lot of really good fanfiction out there. I've only read three or four stories, but they were extremely good. Jack/Daniel is the new H/D! Or something.

Anyway, here's what annoys me: people who have not seen the movie "Stargate" but insist on writing in the fandom anyway. No offense if there's anyone out there who fits that description, but come on. There was no excuse for calling her Sha're in the series in the first place. It's Sha'uri. Much prettier name. Prettier actress, too. I just cringe whenever I see her referred to as Sha're.

My dad took me to see Master & Commander last night, and I have this overwhelming desire for Hornblower/M&C crossovers. I mean, come on. Give me Archie and Steven on the same boat, and I really don't care who they're paired with. The mere idea is just...incredibly sexy.

(And the glasses fetish officially carries over into other fandoms, by the way. Steven's teeny little specs were awesome.)

I am very determined not to fail history. I have been making notes all over my review sheet for the WWI test. All I can hope for is an opinion essay asking for our thoughts on the Versailles Treaty, because I know I can ace that. Unfortunately, I have yet to see an opinion essay in Herzog's class. Le sigh.

I'm working on the new chapter three. It's very different. Some have said "ridiculously different." Heather, the only one who did not read the first draft, is quite upset that she actually has to wait for new chapters. Hannah is unhappy that Zacharias has glasses. Lindsay is going to kill me if I go through with my new plot idea.

Scratch that. Everyone is going to kill me if I go through with my new plot idea.

Basically...without too many spoilers...it will result in my being able to say this: "I warned you! Through the entire story, I told you to expect a tragedy! I gave you Zacharias's novel where the good guy dies, I gave you Lasa's intermittent ramblings about literary tradition, I gave you all sorts of clues! How can you call it unexpected? I warned you. It isn't my fault that you thought I was foreshadowing someone else's death. Really."

Unfortunately, however nice that speech sounds, it will probably go more like this.

Reader: HOW COULD YOU?
Nae: I warned you! Through the enti...urk!
Authority Figure: Now, now. There's no call for strangulation.

[livejournal.com profile] pyrae, hi. What's happening? What's going on? When can I force you to watch Stargate? Should I have a smaller birthday party for just you and Alysa to come over? Should we watch Stargate then?

In related news: fear not! Though usually I'm only online at school, all that is about to change! My mother is working full time, so I'll have use of my own Internet after school. I will also be baby-sitting all summer, which means I'm not just going to disappear when school lets out. I shudder to think of the state of my flist if I was gone for three months. *shudder*

Peace out.

From an official site:

O'Neill is reunited with his old comrades Kawalsky and Ferretti and joined by Capt. Samantha Carter, an astrophysicist. SG-1 returns through the Stargate to Abydos. They discover that Jackson has taken an Abydan wife, the beautiful Sha're, and that Skaara, the young Abydan boy O'Neill cherishes as a son, has grown into a fine young man. They also see Jackson's latest discovery: a giant cartouche covered in hieroglyphics that seems to be a map of many Stargates throughout the galaxy.

Is this the same woman? It's spelled Sha're here.

Screw your friends. They're clingy (to the old story, I mean). Try having a little chat about writing and editing in general.

Alysa's a bitch right now, I doubt you want to invite her anywhere.

I've seen three eps. Might be inclined to watch the movie.

Your friends' page would have recent things only, which would be mostly the pertaining things. Anything else of importance would be mentioned again at some point, or told to you by a helpful friend.

ARGH. That's so utterly ridiculous! Daniel married Sha'uri at the end of the movie. O'Neill knew about it. Argh.

What's up with Alysa?

Which eps did you see? I've only seen a few...my mom doesn't like me to watch them...as usual, she keeps walking in on the bad parts...

But no one else did. And how do you know it's spelled that way? I doubt the movie was subtitled.

Not going into that.

I don't think you're one to complain about people not seeing the movie if you haven't even seen many episodes. I saw maybe three from the first season, and the end of a fourth. I'll tell you when I see you next, don't feel like looking it up or typing them all out.

And how do you know it's spelled that way? I doubt the movie was subtitled.

It was, since Sha'uri and her people only spoke Egyptian. Direct quote: "Sha'uri...what happened here?"

But the movie came first.

Interesting indeed. There seems to be disagreement here.

It did come first. But there's so much more to draw from in the series. If it is possible to use both, I would think that would be the best way to go.

Incidentally, NA had better not do anything while I'm out. "Dial M for Murder" is playing in 3D somewhere and I think we're going.

AUGH DID YOU SEE WHAT LUCIUS SAID? Now I am fretting.

But it's nice to see M.B. again. I am also amused.
